Like many new entrepreneurs Dawn's journey began with a choice. A choice to leave the security of full-time employment and take the leap to pursue her dream. She gave her notice and made a prudent move to work for an up-and-coming gym in hopes of learning more about the industry and the keys to success. After months of dedicated effort she found herself facing many unforeseen obstacles including leadership failures and pressures, declining membership due to poor market-fit and rising employee turnover. The future was looking grim and Dawn once again needed to make a choice. Should she go back to the security of her old job or risk it all and start her own business? She chose the latter but now a slew of new challenges would arise including the need to develop a strategy, a brand, marketing channels and most importantly lock in a physical space for training.
